Digital issuance and online verification
The HCCH describes an e-apostille as an official apostille bearing an electronic signature and digital certificate. An electronic register serves a different function: a paper apostille may also have an online verification record.
The Turkish application service
The PTT system forwards an application to the competent authority and delivers the completed document electronically. Its official FAQ lists criminal records, court decisions and certain civil-status records. Not every document should be assumed eligible for the service.
Short questions
Can it be rejected simply because it is electronic?
The HCCH states that an e-apostille under the Apostille Convention cannot be refused solely because of its electronic form. This does not mean that every substantive or translation requirement for using the underlying document has been met.
What should be retained?
Keep the electronic file and verification details together. Identify the destination country, receiving institution and intended use. A screenshot alone should not be used to determine suitability.
